I am a qualified Reiki teacher in all three levels, Shoden, Okuden and Shinpiden. I am insured with Bluefin, and am a member of the Reiki Federation and Association.

I have done lots of things for charity. One being an 80 mile bike ride for the British heart foundation which was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life. I have taken part in the race for life three years on the trot, although as I have gotten older, I have found yoga has helped to calm my life. Yoga has helped in my Reiki journey in a spiritual and emotional way. Through learning Reiki, I have learnt to cope much better with the fast pace and stresses of every day life. I do believe that Reiki finds you as it did for me and you will find the right teacher to take you on your journey.

Since I have found Reiki my life has changed, I am calmer and more compassionate to myself and others. I can deal with situations better and look at life in a totally different way.

I have helped a variety of people, from those suffering from depression to those just wanting to try Reiki. Everyone has come away with something from there treatment, sometimes not straight away maybe the next day or week. I have always had good feedback.

When Reiki found me I didn’t know what it was, I had never had any treatment before. I went for a massage and asked what Reiki was. The next thing I knew I was booking a treatment (why I don’t know) I had my treatment, I saw colours and felt a lovely heat in my body. From then on I was drawn to Reiki and looking for courses on the Internet just like yourself, I believe if you keep coming back to my web site then you are drawn to me just like I did with my teacher.

The History of Reiki

The founder of Reiki was a Tendi Bhudda called Mikao Usui, He was born on August 15 1865 in the village of Tania-mura (now called Miyama-cho).

At the age of twelve he trained in a martial art called Yagyu Ryu. He grew up to be highly respected by other well-known martial artists of his time.

Usui Sensei was interested in a great many things and seems to have studied voraciously. He studied numerology and astrology, and psychic and clairvoyant development.

Many different spiritual/healing groups were in existence at the time, and one of these attended by Usui – was Rei Jyutsu Kai. Today this organisation consists of the most spiritual Nuns and Monks in Japan, Psychics and Clairvoyants.

It was said that Mikao Usui sat on mount Karma and carried out a twenty-one day meditation and fast. We now know this was called The Lotus Repentance. According to the memorial stone, he experienced an enlightenment or satori that led to the development of Reiki.
